George Sidney Campbell was born on March 7, 1912 in Tennessee, the son of James I Campbell and Margaret (Smith) Campbell.
Working at odd jobs and living at 416 2nd Avenue South in Nashville, he was 50 years old and single when he died of acute pulmonary congestion on August 1, 1962 at Nashville General Hospital.
According to his Death Certificate he was buried on August 3rd in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville, and according to his published obituary the burial was to be in Ray's Cemetery at Cookeville. HOWEVER, it would appear - according to the photo of his cemetery marker - that he was actually buried in Rhea Cemetery in Putnam County!
Much of the above is from his Death Certificate, with Margaret S Campbell of 416 2nd Avenue South as the informant. Additional info is from his published obituary in The Tennessean on August 2, 1962.
