Etta Jane Albea Dies From Illness

Mrs. Etta Jane Albea, 92, of Fortville, passed away Tuesday following an illness of one year.

She was born in Buck Creek Township, Hancock County and had been a resident of the Fortville community her entire lifetime. Her husband, William H. Albea, preceded her in death October 12, 1952. Mrs. Albea was aa member of the Fortville Christian Church and the Fortville Sisterhood.

Survivors include a son, William P. Albea, Rt. 2 Greenfield; two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Sanford, Rt. 2 Greenfield and Clara Bolander, Rt. 1 McCordsville; a brother, John Murphy of Mohawk; two grandchildren, H. Huston Bolander of Indianapolis and Mrs. Mary Cochard of Rt. 2 Greenfield; nieces and nephews, and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Paul C. Cory Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard C. Perrine officiating.

Burial will be in Gravel Lawn Cemetery.


Fortville – Mrs. Ettie Albea, 92, of Fortville died Tuesday morning in the

Hamilton Nursing Home, Noblesville.

She was born in Hancock County Feb. 18, 1869, a daughter of John P. and Clara

(Wilson) Murphy and spent her life in Hancock County.

Mrs. Albea was a member of the Fortville Christian Church and the Fortville

Sisterhood.

Survivors include; two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Sanford, Rt. 2, Greenfield, and

Mrs. Clara Bolander, Rt. 1, McCordsville; a son William Albea of Rt. 2

Greenfield; a brother, John E. Murphy of Mohawk, Ind.; two grandchildren, Huston Bolander of Indianapolis and Mrs. C. C. Cochard of Rt. 2 Greenfield; five

great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today in the Paul C. Cory Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by the Rev.

Howard Perrine of the Fortville Christian Church. Burial will be in Gravel Lawn

Cemetery, Fortville.


Note: Ettie Albea was preceded in death by sister Ella F. (Murphy) McCreery,

and brothers, James William Murphy, Benjamin Murphy, and Alva Murphy.

Etta J. (Murphy) Albea's paternal grandparents are James H. and Elizabeth

(Evans) Murphy (step-grandmother is Mahala (Wilson) Murphy. Maternal

grandparents are Isaac & Anne (Griffith) Wilson.
