Minnie Pearl Kinney, 99, of Ridgewood Care Center died at 6:50 a.m. Nov. 5, 1984, at Ridgewood. She was born June 3, 1885, in Scotland County, Mo., to George P. and Elizabeth Lewis Bowman. A resident of Ottumwa since 1917, she was employed as a seamstress at Peoples Store before her retirement. She was a member of Willard Street United Methodist Church. She married Leonidas Bell Kinney on Sept. 7, 1899. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Mabel Sweeney of Arbela, Mo., and Nellie Mace of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Harley Kinney of Ottumwa; and 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. One son, Elmer Floyd Kinney, preceded her in death. The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Willard Street Methodist Church, with the Rev. Wilbert Trusheim officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. The family will be at Reece Funeral Home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today. A memorial has been etablished to the Cancer Fund, in care of Florence DeBuhr, 3 Carter Court Lane, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501.
