Donald Preston Stoops, 5 son of Carl H. and Peggy Calimer Stoops, Waynesboro R. D. 4, died at 5 p.m. yesterday at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Donald seemed in his usual health Monday and yesterday became critically ill. He was taken to a physician's office yesterday afternoon and then was removed to the hospital and died a few minutes after arriving.
The cause of death was meningitis, a blood-stream infection.
All of his life was lived at Waynesboro R. D, 4. He is survived by his parents and these brothers and sisters; David, Lynn, Deborah and Randy, all at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Calimer and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ida Stoops.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday from the Grove Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Ralph Wise. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Grove Funeral Home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
