Clarke, Lucian A.

Lucian A. Clarke, for many years identified with the lumber business in Washington and prominent in its business and civic activities, died yesterday at 1 o'clock at his home, 1359 Euclid St. N.W. Mr. Clarke had been in failing health for about two years. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 o'clock at the family home, and interment will be private, in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Clarke was 62 years old, having been born in Prince William County, Va. November 16, 1856. He came to Washington in 1892 and formed a lumber firm. He was a director of the American National Bank and has been affiliated with the trade bodies of the city. He was a prominent Mason, a member of the Commercial Club and the Columbia Country Club.

Mr. Clarke is survived by his wife, Lucy M. Clarke and one son, Aubrey L. Clarke; 3 sisters, Mrs. Charles LaHayne and Mrs. Frank Selecman of Washington and Mrs. D. C. Alexander of Minnieville, Va. and 3 brothers; M. C. and Henry Clarke of Washington and Mr. C. E. Clarke of Virginia
