Mr. John W. (J.W.) Clark, age 85, of the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, MO formerly of Monticello died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 8:05 a.m. in the home. J.W. was born February 16, 1925 in Canton a son of John William and Mary Ethel Baker Clark. He married Dorothea Lillard in Kahoka, MO December 22, 1969. She survives. He was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church near Canton, Gideons International and Missouri Angus Association and was an Army Veteran of W.W. II. One of J.W.'s passions in life was raising Angus Cattle for which he was well known. Survivors include his wife of Lewistown, one son John William Clark III and his wife Cooke of DeSoto, MO; one brother Ronald Clark and his wife Phyllis of North Carolina; one grandson Ethan Clark of DeSoto, MO and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Anna Mae Richardson and brother-in-law Roy Richardson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Delbert Earlywine officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton. Visitation will be held Friday, June 25, 2010 from 4 until 8 p.m. with family present to greet friends after 6 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton. The family suggests memorials be made to Gideons International or Centenary United Methodist Church in care of Davis Funeral Home, Canton, MO. Music: Rosemary McCutchan, Vocalist. Pallbearers: John W. Clark III, Kirby Clark, Doug Clark, Stephen Clark, Jr. Gorrell and John Richardson.
