Funeral services for Mr. Maurice J. Adams, 69, of Columbia were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Riser & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.'s Cecil Gregory, Eugene Kimble, and Dr. W. M. Causey, Sr. officiating.
Interment followed in the Columbia Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Adams died Wednesday at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Adams was a veteran of WWII. He attended Centenary College and LSU. He also retired with the La. State Banking Commission in 1972 having served as deputy.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Ida Adams, Columbia; 1 sister, Mrs. Maurine Richardson, Baton Rouge; 2 brothers, Dr. Lee Roy Adams Jr., Columbia, and Dr. J. Blake Adams, Columbia; two grandchildren, Monty Adams, Jr. and Amy Adams, both of Columbia.
