W.A. Jennings, 72, resident of Baird, Texas since 1940, died at the Callahan County Hospital. Mr. Jennings moved to Texas in 1882, settling first at Coleman County.


W.A. Jennings married Annie E. Henry on 5 November 1896 at Glen Rose, Texas.


He had been a member of the Church of Christ since 1893.


Survived by his wife; three daughters - Mrs. Jack Collins, Mrs. Jewel Adams and Mrs. Ira Drake; six sons - J.A., Ray, Jack, Ralph, T.W. and Bob Jennings; two brothers - Fred and Gus Jennings; two sisters - Mrs. Alice Martin and Mrs. Susie Lilly; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.


Services were held at the Baird Church of Christ officiated by A.A. Berryman, minister.


Death certificate, funeral home record and obituary all show died at Baird, Texas.
