We stated last week that we would give the particulars of Mr. Adair's death. It seems that he, in company with several citizens, went to assist a neighbor in building a dwelling. They were at work on the roof when the scaffolding fell. The others managed to save themselves from falling, but Mr. Adair fell to the ground, his body striking a piece of timber, inflicting injuries from which he died in a few minutes. The remains were interred in the cemetery at Macedonia Cemetery. He is survived by a wife and five children to whom we extend sympathy.

The remains of Mr. Jim Adair, who was accidentally killed at Fordyce, May 25th, 1910, were buried at Macedonia Church on Thursday following. The funeral services were conducted by Elder W. B. Morgan, attended by a large concourse of people.
Jim, as everyone liked to call him, was well and favorably known throughout this section of country. In his boyhood days he was pleasant, courteous and respectful to all. After emerging into manhood he was happily married to Miss Margaret Jennings, and from this union were born ten children, six of whom are still living. Mr. Adair left a heart-broken wife and six children to mourn with inexpressible grief the loss of husband and father. But why mourn? You should rather be glad and consoled to know that he had lived such an exemplary life from his childhood days until his death. We will never know in this life the mysterious workings of an all wise Creator. He is too good to err and whatsoever He doeth is right, but it is hard for poor frail creatures to understand why they are so sorely chastised, but those who learn of the spirit will in the great resurrection day know and realize that God is love, and that whatsoever he has imposed upon them is for their eternal welfare.
Mr. Adair's favorite song was the grand old hymn, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" and this was sung at his funeral.
