Two Middletown homes were saddened by death Christmas Day when mothers of two families expired just when celebrations were at their height.
Mrs. Rose Barker, 54, of 1811 Carroll Avenue was the first to pass at five o'clock Christmas morning. Her death enshrouded her home in sorrow even before the day of the holiday.
Mrs. Barker was the wife of Jack Barker. The family had lived here for 25 years, coming from Kentucky.
She is survived by five children, Mrs. Louella Back of Danville, N. Y., who arrived two hours after her mother had died, and Abraham, James, Tuck and Robert, of Middletown.
Arrangements for the funeral are incomplete.
