JOHN G. WATSON

Associate John G. Watson of Kellettville, died at the home of his son, Sager Watson, in North Warren at 6:15 PM Thursday, Jan. 30, 1930, after an illness from heart trouble for the past several months. When he became ill he was taken to the home of his son last Nov.

Judge Watson was aged 78 years and was a son of the late Francis and Cordelia Johnson Watson, who came to Tionesta from Titusville, as early settlers of Forest Co. For the greater part of his life Judge Watson followed the lumbering industry and all of his life was spent in Forest Co. For 40 years or more he had been located at Kellettville and been employed by the Salmon Creek Lumber Co. or the Collins Watson interests.

In 1927 he was elected on the Republican ticket and had served 2 of a 6-year term as associate judge of Forest Co.

He had many friends in all walks of life and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. He was a member of the M. E. church of Kellettville.

He was twice married. He is survived by six of twelve children born to the first union as follows: Mrs. James McMillan of Kansas; Mrs. Dewey Walters of Kellettville; Mrs. F. V. Hendrickson and Mrs. Edward Patch of Youngdsville; William G. Watson of Endeavor and Sager Watson of North Warren. Fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, his sister, Mrs. Rebecca Spangler, and brother, Harvey Watson, both of Kellettville also survive. His widow also survives. His first wife preceded him in death 9 years ago on the same date, Jan. 30, 1921. She was the former Nettie Hall.

Funeral services in his memory were held at the home of his son in North Warren at 9:00 AM Sunday with the Rev. Ginader, pastor of the Grace M. E. church of Warren officiating. Interment was made in the Zuendel cemetery at Starr.
