Alberta B. "Bertie" Strait, 84, a resident of York County Nursing Home, and formerly of 343 E. Liberty St., Chambersburg, PA died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at the nursing home. Born April 1, 1920, in Broad Top Twp., Pa., she was the daughter of the late Elliott D. and Fannie Jane McDonald Aller. Her husband, Samuel Lee Strait, died April 6, 1995. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Shook Home. She was a member of First Church of God, Chambersburg, where she served as a former Sunday school teacher, was a member of Senior Life and Women's Christian Service Council. She was preceded in death by one son, Howard; one sister, Helen Ritchey; one brother, Irvin Aller; and two grandsons. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Church of God, Chambersburg. The Rev. Earl Mills will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
