The son of David Danforth of Hillsborough, NH and Paulina (Richmond)of Litchfield, CT, William was the 7th child of nine children. He married Marianne N. (Morse) in Essex Co., VT on 08 Jan 1843 and there their first four children were born. In about 1854 or 1855, the family moved to Wisconsin and thereafter to Winona Co., Minnesota where he lived the remainder of his life.
He died at the age of 53 years,6 months, and 7 days. His widow survived him by many years, and died in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada. They were the parents of nine children: Albro Benvard; Addison Andrew; Lula A.; Frank Henry; and the following who died as infants - Elizabeth,George Henry, Nathan, and Clara A. Danforth.
