HAWARDEN, Iowa -- Arnold "Barney" Feauto, 81, of Hawarden died Thursday, May 6, 2004, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. LeRoy Seuntjens officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery, Hawarden. Visitation will be noon to 5 p.m. today at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the church.

Arnold W. "Barney" Feauto was born Oct. 11, 1922 in Akron, Iowa, the son of Ambrose and Clara (Buryanek) Feauto.

He married Phyllis McCorkell. He later married Violet Kryger Wycoff in 1965 in Yankton, S.D. Barney was employed in construction and with the Robb Ross Company in Sioux City. He worked in packing plants including Kane Beef Plant in Hawarden.

He enjoyed baseball and had played semi pro ball. He followed the St. Louis Cardinals and was an avid pool player.

He is survived by his wife, Violet; a son, Gary Feauto of Glendora, Calif.; two daughters, Arlys Blodgect of San Diego, Calif. and Sandy Liston of Hawarden; three brothers, Vincent and his special friend, Delores Buehre of Akron, Iowa, Orville and his wife, Marlene of Hawarden and Kenneth and his wife, Elaine of Fort Dodge, Iowa; three sisters, Florence Williams of Sioux City, Dorothy Carman of Sioux City and Mary Lou (Feauto) Hoeck of Hawarden; a sister-in-law, Norma Jean Feauto of Sioux City; eight grandchildren, Gary's children, Michael and Stephanie, Arlys' children, Christina and Jerry and Sandy's children, Billy, Ricky, Annette and Stacey; five great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steven; his parents; three brothers, Raymond, Lawrence and Ronald; and a brother-in-law, Harry Williams.
