She attended Payson City schools, and was a member of the L.D.S. Church.
Shirley was an excellent homemaker. She was blessed with nine children and took much pride in them.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, William H. Carter; sons: William Lanphear, Jr., Michael Paul Lanphear, William H. Carter Jr.; sisters: LaDean Dallin, Grace Kay; and brother, Burnell Bills.
She is survived by daughters: Barbara (Doug) Greenhalgh, Santaquin, Jolene Horton, Kailua, Hawaii; sons: Terry (Kayleen) Carter, Kaysville, Dick Carter, Orem, Kelly Carter, Salt Lake City, Jeff Carter, Phoenix, Az.; brother, Dick Bills, Spanish Fork; twenty-five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
