Our loving mother, Shirley LaPreal Bills Lanphear Carter, age 78, passed away Monday, August 4, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born December 1, 1924 in Payson, Utah to LaPreal Dixon and Ervine Bills.

She attended Payson City schools, and was a member of the L.D.S. Church.

Shirley was an excellent homemaker. She was blessed with nine children and took much pride in them.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, William H. Carter; sons: William Lanphear, Jr., Michael Paul Lanphear, William H. Carter Jr.; sisters: LaDean Dallin, Grace Kay; and brother, Burnell Bills.

She is survived by daughters: Barbara (Doug) Greenhalgh, Santaquin, Jolene Horton, Kailua, Hawaii; sons: Terry (Kayleen) Carter, Kaysville, Dick Carter, Orem, Kelly Carter, Salt Lake City, Jeff Carter, Phoenix, Az.; brother, Dick Bills, Spanish Fork; twenty-five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
