Mr. Polk Godwin died at his home near Theta, Thursday, aged 39 years. The funeral was held at Union church on Snow Creek, Friday morning, at 11 o'clock, and the interment was at the graveyard there. Mr. Goad leaves a wife and five small children. -- Columbia Herald, 20 Dec. 1901.
