Funeral services for John Clinton Hudgins, 74, who died Saturday afternoon at his home near LaRue, were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the New York Baptist Church.
Interment was in the New York Cemetery.
Mr. Hudgins, a farmer, had resided near LaRue for more than thirty years. He was a member of the Baptist church.
He died suddenly of a heart attack while cutting firewood in the woods near his home.
He was born on September 4, 1873, in Smith County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Hudgins.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Hudgins, New York; father, W.A. Hudgins, 96, route 1, LaRue; one son, J.B. Hudgins of LaRue; three daughters, Mrs. Etta Buie of Tyler, Mrs. Josephine Luce of LaRue, and Mrs. Flora Godsey of Nacogdoches, ten grandchildren; five brothers, Sheriff B. Hudgins of Cleburne, Henry F. Hudgins of Farmington, New Mexico, Rufus M. Hudgins of Apache, Oklahoma, David D. Hudguins of Carnigan, Oklahoma, and Horace G. Hudgins of Fort Worth; five sisters, Mrs. Ella Johnson and Mrs. Mattie Clary , both of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, Mrs. Beulah B. Howeth and Mrs. Ara Forsythe, both of Glenrose and Mrs. Mary Jo Bandy of Burleson.
