RUBY PEARL McALPINE

Ruby Pearl McAlpine, daughter of William and Frances Shepherd, was born February 2, 1904 at Table Rock, Nebr. and passed away at Beatrice, Nebr. July 10, 1968, having been in ill health for a number of years. She was 64 years, 5 months and 8 days.

On February 9, 1927 she was united in marriage to Hugh C. McAlpine in Seneca, Kansas/ They made their home in Southeast Nebraska and Northeast Kansas communities before moving to Oregon in 1934. They returned to Nebraska in 1942 and made their home in Beatrice for the past nineteen years. On April 27, 1968 they moved to Table Rock.

She was a member of the Methodist Church until moving to Beatrice where she was baptized in the First Baptist Church. She was a faithful member until her death, being a member of the Baptist' Women's Society and a teacher in the Sunday School.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Hugh; one daughter, Nancy; son-in-law, Ted Quackenbush; three grandchildren: Ted,Jr., Ann, and Bradley, all of Gardena, Calif.; two sisters: Mrs. C. C. (Lulu) Beebe, Leavenworth, Kansas and Mrs. John (Cleo) Epley of Sterling, Nebraska; two brothers, Marvin Shepherd of Waverly, Nebr.; Roy Shepherd of Broken Bow, Nebr.; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held in the Table Rock Methodist Church on Sunday, July 14, 1968 with the Rev. Floyd Green officiating. Mrs. Jesse Nemechek,Fr. and Mrs. Joe Sochor sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied by Mrs. George Tomek at the organ.

Pallbearers were Milton Carter, Kenneth Harris, Ed Stevicks, Archie Harris, Lester Harris and Duane Alderman.

Interment was in the Table Rock Cemetery.
