Please note that his birth certificate indicates a date of birth of the 22nd. However, every other record I have found says the 27th. This includes SSA, military records, WWII draft reg, death cert, and tombstone. I also question whether the birth cert was filled out by the midwife (Savannah Jones) as it appears to indicate or by someone else perhaps based on information she provided since her first name in the signature section is misspelled. The bottom line is that either Charlie used the wrong date of birth throughout his life or the birth cert is wrong by 5 days. This memorial will continue to use the 27th until we can find something that may clear this up like a Family Bible or anything else that says the 22nd.
