Lula Mae Dickerson Reed, 72, of Blue Ridge Nursing Center, Stuart, Va., passed away on Monday, March 23, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Maylon Reed; and brothers and sisters, Charlie Dickerson, Roy Dickerson, Clarence Dickerson, James Dickerson, Mandy Saunders, and Ethelyne Dickerson. Survivors include her children, Norma and Robbie Sebastian, Kenny Reed, Doug Reed, Sandra and John Dillon, all of Bassett, and April Reed, of Blue Ridge Nursing Center, Stuart; four grandchildren; and sisters, Essie Goad, of Henry, Va., and Rosie Akers, of Blue Ridge Nursing Center, Stuart. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Interment to follow in Duncan Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the funeral home.
