Delia Marie (Santore) Celella, 105, of Plainville, passed away on Wednesday June 30, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Carmen Celella.
Delia was born on September 21, 1904 in Beacon Falls to the late Gerard and Maria Johanna (Sabia) Santore.
Delia was a Plainville resident for 78 years, where she raised her family. She loved to travel and seeing and doing new things. Delia was a strong and progressive woman who took life one day at a time. She shared everything she could to help anyone. Delia loved and accepted all people for who they are. She enjoyed cooking for her family and cherished every time spent with them.
Delia will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
She leaves her three daughters Angela M. Herkert of Kenmore, NY, Lucille A. Domingue and her husband Rene of New Britain and Marguerite R. Celella of Plainville, 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 8 great great granddaughters along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 2 daughters Johanna M. and Carol Ann Celella, a son-in-law James Herkert, her 3 brothers Frank, Anthony and Louis Santore and her sister Angelina Glick.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday July 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Rd., New Britain, CT 06053. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Family and friends are welcome to gather the morning of the funeral beginning at 8 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville.
