Berniece Kathryn, daughter of Lizzie Hicks, born Nov 1, 1917 died Apr 5, 1919 at the age of one year five months and 4 days. Her body was laid to rest in the Spring Creek Cemetery, Sunday, Apr the 6th, burial services were conducted by Rev. Gibbons of Calico Rock.
Little Beriece was the joy of our home, but God saw fit to take her from this world of sorrow and pain, to a higher place. It was oh, so hard to give her up, but the Good Lord knows best and plucked her little life, as one would pluck a fresh rose bud, to shine as a jewel in his Kingdom. She is gone but not forgotten. Let the life and death of little Berniece remind us of the higher place and may we all be prepared to meet her when it comes time for us to cross the dark valley of death which she had to cross.
