Wayne J. Lofton, age 95, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2020 in New Braunfels, TX. Wayne was born on November 11, 1924 in Calico Rock, AR. Wayne served his country as a service man in the US Army with deployments to China, Burma & India. Following his time in the military Wayne obtained a master’s degree in Education from the University of Arkansas and taught for several years in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Much of his professional career, Wayne worked for Social Security Disability Administration in Little Rock, AR and Dallas, TX. Wayne married the love of his life in 1947 to whom he was hopelessly devoted to for the next 65 years until her passing. Wayne was a man of integrity and beloved by many. He was one of the sweetest gentlest men on earth. Wayne was a dedicated father, grandfather, and great grandfather. In recent years, Wayne enjoyed spending his time with his constant companion, Bella; a Pomeranian. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon & Elizabeth (Hicks) Lofton, his wife Irene (Young) Lofton, his youngest daughter Treva Thompson and his two sisters Georgie Young & Pauline Flack. Wayne is survived by his younger brother Edd Lofton and his wife Judy; his oldest daughter Connie Kredell and her husband George; his grandson Matt Kredell and his wife Rebecca; his grandson Paul Lofton and his wife Mia; his granddaughter Ashley Coleman and her husband Clay; and his great grandson Owen King Coleman and great granddaughter Piper Hope. Visitation will be Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Jayne’s Memorial Chapel, Duncanville, Texas from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Interment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens, Mountain Home, Arkansas, accompanied by a graveside service on Tuesday, August 11 at 10:00 a.m.
