1774, 06 Feb: Elijah Heflin (var. sp.) was b. on a farm nr the little area called Orlean in Fauquier Co., VA, the s/o Simon Heflin (var. sp.) & Ailse {PAYNE?}. NO PROOF of his mother's nee name has surfaced.

1795, -- -?-: Simon left the FREE STATE (called that because no one paid their annual rent) in Orlean and re-located in then Limestone, [Now Maysville], Mason Co., KY.

1896, 16 Sep: Elijah Heflin (22) b. VA wed Elizabeth CRAIN (15) b. VA in Washington, Mason Co., KY which was, then, the county seat, which was, later, re-located to Maysville.

1799, -- -?-: Elijah "Lige" Heflin had moved on to nr Foxes Creek, in Fleming Co., KY. He managed to hold 143 ac.s in this area by 1813. All 8 of their children were born here.

1827, -- -?-: Elijah Heflin & many of the Heflin Clan obtained/rented land in Rush Co., IN and they all moved there.

1841, 20 May: Elijah Heflin & w. moved on to the area near Rio, Knox Co., IL, where he had bot 160 ac.s in the SE1/4 of Sec. #20 in T13N R1E, where they remained.

1845, 14 Sep: Elijah Heflin (71) b. VA d. on their farm nr Rio.

1872, 08 Sep: His w. Elizabeth CRAIN Heflin (95) b. VA d. on their farm nr Rio.
