Chick's mom Lillian Matilda (Engvall) Edgerton, born 23 August 1896, with three of her four sons: Standing, Bryant Clinton Edgerton born 8 June 1924; Standing, Robert Albert Edgerton born 22 August 1927; Sitting in his mom's lap is Charles Edward Edgerton born 29 November 1929. All four boys were born in Milford Hospital in Milford, Connecticut. Not shown in large photo is George Leonard Edgerton born 7 December 1932 and Bryant Clinton Edgerton, Sr., husband and father, born 14 May 1898. Photo was taken in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1931 - year before George Leonard Edgerton was born - Right insert photo is George as an adult, 1982 age 50. WASHINGTON, DC. When I was a young man, living in Washington, DC, I would often go down to Haines Point late at night ~always~ with the same pretty girl to see the "submarine races". She and I would listen to the music on the car radio and leave the windows rolled down so we could hear the water gently lapping on the rocks below. On those nights we shared our needs, our wants, and our dreams for the future. But the future had a shocker in Washington waiting for us. There was a serpent waiting to strike. Through the continuum of time and space this she serpent followed us to Connecticut and did strike, thus this pretty girl and I parted. I have often wondered if this pretty girl still remembers our nights at Haines Point. I have often wondered what happened to this pretty girl. And, most importantly I have often wondered WHY?

MY SPECIAL KNIFE. THIS KNIFE WAS CARRIED INTO COMBAT DURING WW I BY MY FRIEND GEORGE. WHEN I WAS RECALLED INTO ACTIVE SERVICE IN 1950 HE GAVE IT TO ME. IT HAS BEEN WITH ME FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS AND IT HAS TRAVELED WITH ME FOR MORE THAN A MILLION AND HALF MILES. I KEEP IT FOR REMEMBRANCE OF MY FRIEND. THANKS 'POP'
