Bolinger --- In the Cherry Grove church, Carroll Co, Ill, Aug 1st, of cancer on the lip, Eld. Michael Bolinger aged 77 years, 11 months and 29 days.

Bro. Bolinger has labored in the Cherry Grove church for over thirty years; also had the oversight of the church for many years, and always gave good and wholesome advice, ever trying to keep close to the commandments of our Lord and Savior. But for the last five years has suffered much with cancer in the lower lip; and the last year of his life was that of great suffereing, his entire lower lip being eaten away and his lower gums so much so that four of his teeth fell out, besides the flesh being all eaten on the upper part of his chin, and a large portion of his left cheek. He might exclaim with a truth, "Of all men I am most miserable," and ofttimes was heard to exclaim, "If it be possible, let this affliction pass from me; not my will, but thine, O God, be done!" He was born in Pennsylvania, Aug 2nd, 1806. He was interred in the family lot in the cemetery at Georgetown. Funeral services by Eld. Geo. Zollars, assisted by Bro. Henry Martin, to a large assembly of old neighbors and friends.

Michael Bolinger married:
Mary Elizabeth Rupert (1806-1860) in 1829, in Huntingdon County, PA
Susan Detrick (1805-1863) December 12, 1861 in Carroll County, IL
Elizabeth Swab June 7, 1864
