Bolinger, Bro. George W., son of Michael and Elizabeth Bolinger, born at Huntingdon, Pa. Feb. 7, 1848, died of hardening of the arteries at this home in Lanark, Ill., June 9, 1915, aged 67 years, 4 months and 2 days. He came to Illinois with his parents at the age of nine years. Feb. 7, 1871, he was united in marriage to Annie L. Finifrock, who preceded him to the spirit world April 10, 1896. To this union were born nine children. Seven of them survive. He was one of a family of ten children. All of them, except one brother and one sister, preceded him. Bro. Bolinger united with the Church of the Brethren under the preaching of Eld. H.C. Early in December, 1894. He was elected to the office of deacon in June, 1900, and served the church faithfully until death. He always took an active part in the song service, of which he was leader for several years. Services at the Cherry Grove church by the writer, assisted by Bro. I.R. Young. Text, "I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work thou gavest me to do." Interment in the adjoining cemetery. --- Charles E. Delp, R. D. 3, Shannon, Ill.
