SOUTH BEND - Rita C. Zakrzewski, 70, of West Ford Street, died at 4:50 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Care Center-West. Miss Zakrzewski retired as a clerk with Northern Indiana Wholesale and also was formerly employed at Nowak's Grocery for many years. She was born April 9, 1924, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. Surviving are five sisters, Evelyn Zakrzewski, Sylvia Trace, Helen Rafalski, Gertrude Fodroczi, and her twin sister, Loretta Bilinski, all of South Bend. She was a lifelong member of St. Casimir's Catholic Church, Club 53 of the church, and M.R. Falconettes.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, where members of M.R. Falconnettes Legion of Honor will lead a prayer service at 3 p.m. and a parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
