Mrs. Elliott was born February 8, 1926, in Jackson Parish, LA and passed away July 19, 2010, in West Monroe. She was a homemaker and retired day care director at McGuire United Methodist Church. She lived most of her life in West Monroe, where she was a charter member of the McGuire United Methodist Church and a local, district, and state leader in Methodist Women's organizations. She was a board member of Habitat for Humanity and a volunteer in Glenwood's Auxiliary and Hospice, and a worker for a number of years in the United Cerebral Palsy Organization.
Anyone who was touched by Jean's service to her family, church, and community will know her name and honor her legacy.
Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Velma Hall Chappell; husband, Donald Elliott, Sr.; a son, Donald, Jr.; and a sister, Maureen Pipes.
She is survived by a daughter, Dona Ordello and husband, Dennis; brother, W.E. "Bill" Chappell and wife, Sandra; sister, Julia C. Wroten; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 6 nephews and 1 niece.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe and at the church from 9:30AM until service time.
