Mrs. Pipes was a member of Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church, where she volunteered in many capacities. She also helped the needy at Christian Community Ministries and served as a family consultant on the Life Project in support of accessibility for the disabled. She received the Twin Cities Mayor's Committee for Disability Shining Star Award.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jard Young Pipes, Jr.

She was survived by two children, Jack K. Stacy, Jr. and wife Doris of Bulverde, TX, and Alice Maureen Pipes of Monroe; two sisters, Ellagene Elliott and Julia Marie Wroten, both of West Monroe; one brother, William Eugene Chappell of Grayson; two sisters-in-law, Elsie McCaleb and Teddy Lee; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
