Mr. Vernon died June 6, about 9:28 in Oklahoma Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK, following a lengthy illness. He was born August 4, 1924 in Spur. He had lived in Bartlesville since 1957. He was a retired chemical engineer formerly employed by Phillips Petroleum.
He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Navy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville. He was a graduate of Spur High School and Texas Tech. He married Ann Burroughs in 1948.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Vernon of Bartlesville, OK; two sons, Richard Vernon of Houston and Robert Vernon of Des Moines, IA; two daughters, Laura Heald, Houston and Lianne Vernon, Bartlesville, OK; four grandchildren. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Foy Vernon are deceased.
Campbell Funeral Home will be in charge of local arrangements.
