Mrs. Mary Mackessy died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Fitzgerald on North Seventh street, last evening at 9:30 o'clock. She was born in County Limerick, Ireland May 15, 1820. She came to this country when but a child and had lived in this city sixty-five years. She was the widow of Morris (sic) Mackessy who died in this city twenty years ago. Deceased was a devout Christian and was a member of St. Mary's church. The following children survive: William Mackessy, Mrs. John Fitzgerald, Mrs. John Rupel and Johanna Mackessy, all of this city, and Mrs. Honora Glavin, Mrs. Margaret Nolin and Mrs. Ben Akins, all of Chicago. Mrs. Mackessy was one of the oldest women in this city, and came here with her husband when but 28 years old and had lived here ever since. She was well-known and her death is greatly regretted by all. The funeral willl be held from the home Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and from the church at 2 p.m. The interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
