JOHANNA MACKESSY DEAD AFTER STROKE - Miss Johanna Mackessy, 508 North Sixth street, died Monday morning at 2:15 o'clock at St. Elizaeth hospital, where she had been a patient since Saturday when she suffered a stroke of apoplexy.
A daughter of Maurice and Mary (Powers) Mackessy, she was born in Lafayette and spent her entire life here. She was a devout member of St. Mary's Catholic church. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Julia Akins, of Chicago, and the following nephews and nieces, John Fitzgerald, of Ann Arbor, Mich.: Paul Fitzgerald of Chicago: Mrs. Neil Watkins, Mrs. Henry Arman and Mrs. Mary Rhyan, of this city, and Mrs. Howard Howe, of West Point.
Friends may call at the Vianco funeral home after 6 o'clock Monday evening. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning at 8 o'clock from St. Mary's church. Interment in St. Mary's cemetery.
