Hilda M. Blade, age 101, of Calumet City, IL, passed away Monday, August 4, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 80 years, Raymond H.; one daughter, Dee (Frank) Keszonas of Justice, IL; four grandchildren: Cookie (Mike) Metrick of Highland, IN, Cheryl (Everett) Koonce of Hammond, IN, John (Jan) Hric of River Falls, WI and Jeanette Wipfler of St. Peter's, MO; 14 great grandchildren; 27 great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; one sister, Frances Ott of Cedar Lake, IN; one sister-in-law, Opal Koss of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Raymond "Butch" Rogalski; three sisters: Rose Hilyard, Alice York and Violet Koss; and three brothers: Leonard, James and William Koss. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. from First Church of God, 900 Ridgeway, Munster, IN with Pastor Ron Cooper officiating. Burial will be at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, August 8, 2008 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave, Hammond, IN and Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior Ave., Munster, IN 46321. Hilda was a resident of this area for 80 years. She was a member of First Church of God, Munster, IN and worked as a jewelry buyer for Edward C. Minas Co. of Hammond, IN, for information, call LaHayne Funeral Home at (219) 845-3600.
