Mr. Stilwell, age 87, of Murrells Inlet, formerly of Charlotte, died March 26, 2005 at Myrtle Beach Manor. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Charlotte. A visitation will be from 6-7:30 PM Sunday at McEwen Charlotte Chapel in Charlotte.

Mr. Stilwell was born October 26, 1917 in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Thomas Luther and Callie Hovis Stilwell. He was formerly a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and retired as a Supervisor after 45 years with Lance, Inc.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred Beatty Stilwell; son, Thomas 'Tommy' M. Stilwell, Jr. and wife, Gayle, of East Palatka, FL; stepdaughter, Alice 'Vige' Austin and husband, Charlie, of Murrells Inlet, SC; sisters, Carrie Louise Presson of Pageland, SC and Emily Smith of Charlotte; brothers, Dick Stilwell of Charlotte and Roy Stilwell of South Carolina; five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stilwell was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Stilwell and a sister, Dora Hammer.
