LYDIA BALES PASSES AWAY
Had Been Ill For Several Years.

Mrs. Lydia C. Bales, 67 years of age, died at 1:30 a.m. today at Cragmont hospital at Madison, after an illness of seven years. She was the widow of Samuel Bales, who died Oct. 10, 1937, and for many years was a resident of Salt Creek township.

Survivors are three sons, Harvey, John and Clifford Bales, all of this city; five daughters, Mrs. Homer Beam, Mrs. Pearl Naugle, Mrs. Lloyd Wagner and Mrs. Harlen Kelly, all of Bloomington and Mrs. Ralph Lee of Austin, Tex.; one brother, Wesley Chandler of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Murdock of Heber City, Utah and Mrs. Lon Stevens of Spencer, 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Bales was a member of the Latter Day Saints church. The body was brought today to the Weir funeral home and will lie in state there until 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Knight Ridge church and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. George Deckard will conduct the services.
