Having been converted under the preaching of the Methodists, they joined the M.E. Church at John's Creek A.D. 1855, and regularly attended on the ordinances of that church until old age would no longer permit. Mrs. Ganfield died on March 11, 1888, in the 82nd year of her age, and was interred at John's Creek on the following Wednesday. Her last words were: "Blessed Lord! Take me to father."
Her children who survive are Samuel and Mrs. J. Hucker of Hazel Valley; Mrs. Richland of Brooklyn, New York; Mrs. Frank Newell, Storm Lake; Thomas of Rock County, Minnesota; and William of Hampton, Franklin County.
