I often wondered why he would live in such a hot place, but then learned it was for his asthma, the hot dry climate helped him.
After Mildred passed away, Rollin married Maxine Evva Gandy Ray, she had two teenage boys from a former Ray marriage, daughter to Howard L. Gandy and Evva A. Tyrell, after the marriage ended he married a younger woman named Shirley R. Dees in Dec 1959. I don't recall the length of his marriages, all were short lived from what I recall. After the marriage to Shirley ended Rollin made a good choice and married Barbara Ann Dahlgren in 1962.They were a good match and seemed to be very happy.
Rollin had health problems all his life, he was asthmatic and suffered a great deal with the illness. He had a severe attack and died in the arms of his wife Barbara on the way to the hospital.
Barbara was a Registered Nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital( now Peace Health ) in Eugene and was unable to save him. At least he found some happiness before he died. I'm happy for that.
