Marvene was a member of The Daughters of The American Revolution. She was an avid reader, had a passion for travel, flowers, antiques, and was a life-long animal lover. She was known for finding, helping and making a home for many animals in need. Later in life she focused her animal advocacy on donating to some of her favorite animal charities. Her compassion for animals was admired by all who knew her and will be missed.
Marvene is survived by her husband Lester V. Lukas, Jr. and her daughter Leslie Lukas-Recio and Juliane Montgomery Burbach. She is fondly remembered by several extended family members as well as friends who cared for her deeply.
Per her wishes, in lieu of a service or celebration of life – both friends and family wishing to honor her may make a donation in her name to The Oregon Humane Society https://www.oregonhumane.org/donate/memorial-celebration-gifts/
