Elmer Burl Carpenter, 54, of 1411 Davis, died Jan. 24 in the Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 20, 1918 at Kingston, the son of Squire Thomas and Maude Burks Carpenter, he was manager of Big Dutchman Corp.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Georgia Morrow Carpenter, of the home; two sons, John and Jack, both of Springdale; four daughters, Mrs. Peggy Clark of Fayetteville, Mrs. Betty Williams and Mrs. Jill Henderson, both of Tulsa and Miss Lisa Carpenter of the home; three stepdaughters, Miss Earla Morrow and Mrs. Ronda Pickett, both of Springdale, and Mrs. Nanette Haney of Scotland, Ark., his mother of Woodland, Calif.; two brothers, Ernest of Woodland and Alvin of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Whitemore of Petaluma, Calif., and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Jan. 27 at Sisco Chapel with burial in Friendship Cemetery.
