Friends here have received word of the death of Mrs. Ora Dorothea Whitmire, 55, who died of a heart attack at her home in Davis, Calif.
Mrs. Whitmire, a dietician at the University of Calif. health center in Davis, was a native of Kingston, Ark. She had lived in Davis for the last 20 years. She was active in the mothers' clubs for schools and worked with the parents group for the order of the Rainbow for Girls.
Mrs. Whitmire was the wife of James V. Whitmire, assistant superintendent of the Rice Growers Association at Sacramento.
Other survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Carpenter, Woodland, Calif.; five son and daughters, Mrs. Nancy Eason of Woodland, Mrs. Sara Westfahl of Eureka, Calif., Tom, David and Debbie Whitmire, all of Davis; three brothers, Elmer Carpenter of Springdale, Ernest Carpenter of Woodland and Alvin Carpenter of Sacramento, and one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Whitmire of Petaluma.
