Mrs. Vanlandingham Dies After Short Illness

Mrs. Dovie Vanlandingham died Friday at the home of her nephew, Mr. Harvard Alford, on the Calhoun City Highway, following an illness of a few days of pneumonia.

Mrs. Vanlandingham was born nearly sixty years ago in Tennessee, coming to Mississippi when a small child. Since that time she has resided in this county.

She was, before her marriage, Miss Dovie Austin. A number of years ago she united with the Methodist Church.

Those who knew her, knew her to love and respect, and only a few were aware of her serious illness.

The funeral was conducted at the Baptist Church in Houston Saturday morning by Rev. W C Stewart, the pastor of the church. Interment followed later in the cemetery at Macedonia.

Mrs. Vanlandingham leaves several brothers and sisters, Mrs. Orvie Davis, Messrs. Hamp and Eli Austin of Blytheville, Mr. W A Austin of Louisiana; Mr. H S Austin and Mrs. Amanda Gann of Houston.
