Services Today for Mrs. Gann

Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Sue Gann, who died at 2 am, Wednesday, Oct. 13, at her home on Highway 8-East near the Natchez Trace Parkway, were to be conducted at 3 pm, Thursday, Oct. 14, at Macedonia with the Rev. Mr. Wright officiating.

Interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery with Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Grandsons were pallbearers.

Mrs. Gann, widow of the late Henry R Gann, was a native of Nashville, Tenn. She was 80, and was born May 5 1885. She had lived here 73 years.

Mrs. Gann was the daughter of the late Hirman Austin and Annie Summerall Austin. She was a member of the Macedonia Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, James, Austin, and Henry Evans (Doc) Gann, all of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Franks of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Albert Austin of Little Rock. Ark., and Hamp Austin of Blytheville, Ark.; nine grandchildren, A J Gann, James Brandon Gann, Ruth Evelyn Gann, Kenneth Gann, James Austin Gann, Malcolm Franks, Vickie Gann, Malcolm Evans Gann and Mickey Gann, nine great grandchildren and four step grandchildren.
