The body was removed to Brown's Chapel on Ferry street where funeral rites will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. R.D. Cook, pastor of Memorial Drive Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Abel was a devoted member. Burial at City Cemetery will be in charge of Brown.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Mathew Britain, Robert Nelson, W.A. Britain, Kirk Blizzard, Sam Brown and Bluett Free.
Mrs. Abel is survived by a son, H.P. Abel, of Decatur. She was the mother of the late G.F., C.W. and C.E. Abel, all of whom were widely known Decatur business men. Seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
