Lettie E. Wilson, 96, formerly of Exeland and Ladysmith, passed away April 5, 2010, at Our House Memory Care in Rice Lake.

Lettie was born in Osceola, Iowa, on April 30, 1913, to Walter and Catherine (McGrath) Baker. She married George E. Wilson in Exeland on March 16, 1932. They farmed on the Chippewa River northeast of Exeland until 1959. She was the leader of the Sunday school program at the Brunett Methodist Church east of Exeland and a member of the Ladies Aid and prayer meeting groups.

She lived in Ladysmith from 1959 until 2007. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, a member of the Women's Society and sang in the church choir. She was an avid button collector, made beautiful quilts, sang with the Rusk County Senior Singers and loved to dance. She was a Gray Lady volunteer at the Rusk County Hospital and Nursing Home. She and George traveled extensively before his death and she continued to travel with her daughters after he passed away.

Lettie is survived by her daughters Maxine Arvold of Oakdale, Minn., Delores (Harold) Brooks of Rice Lake, and Grace (John) Cameron of Spooner; her son-in-law Fred Froelich of Oakland Park, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters Darline Smith of Exeland and Inez (Jack) Henry of Maplewood, Minn.

Lettie was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Catherine; her husband George; her daughter Bonnie Froelich; her grandson, Gerald Brooks; her sisters Clara Crye, Nona Haag, Louese Martin and Lucille Canaday; and her brother Richard Baker.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, April 13, at the Faith United Methodist Church in Ladysmith with pastor Linda Shearer officiating. Burial was in the Windfall Cemetery in Exeland. The Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith assisted the family with the arrangements.
