George Lawton Bacon was born to Lawton Lyon and Sophia Jinks Bacon, August 23, 1850, in Daviess, Missouri.

He married Rutilia "Kritilla" Reid, December 4, 1873, and they had two daughters: Ada Lee Bacon, 1874-1875, and Effie May Bacon, 1876-1963. After they were divorced, he married Mary Angeline Boswell, August 16, 1877, Lawrence, Missouri.

They moved to Oklahoma, where they had five sons and three daughters.

In 1932, he died and was buried in Rolston Cemetery, Delaware County, Oklahoma.
