FNC - May 6, 1997. Bushnell Florida. My Dearest Marjorie, My Wife. Thank you for 24 years of Devotiion and Love. Thank you for being my Friend and my Companion. Thank you for being my Wife. I have many wonderful memories of you but some of the ones I'll cherish the most are the ones of the past six years when we lived in our motor home. When most people our age are content to sit and rock you wanted to see America. So we did. We traveled over 90 thousand miles through all 48 contiguous States. What a life we had. We picked Corn in Iowa, Cherries in Michigan, Grapes and Melons in California, Apples in Washington, Cotton in Arkansas. We played in the waters of the Atlantic, the Pacific, the Gulf of Mexico, The Five Great Lakes, the Missisipppi, the Blue Columbia, and the Colorado Rivers. We walked the Rockies and the Great Tetons. We walked the trails of General Custer, Sitting Bull, Cochise, and many many more Great Americans from the past. (Part Two Continued below)

FNC - May 6, 1997 - Part two. We rafted the Snake River and when we entered the first big white water someone in the raft hollered "keep an eye on the old people". We looked at each other and smiled. We didn't see any "old people". All we saw was two lovers out for a ride in a boat. And that was our dream - to see America - take a ride. See people at work, see people at play. We traveled the back roads and saw life different than what we knew. Strangers waved, spoke, showed kindness to us just because we looked and stopped to say hello. We visited the homes and libraries of Presidents and the great. We prayed in a Glass Cathedral, churches large and small, in the clubhouse, in the lounge, outdoors, and in front of our tv, always together. We saw the ravages of floods, quakes, wind, and fire. We fed the deer, the bears, foxes, antelopes, rabbits, birds, moose, cats, and dogs - whatever you could find to feed. You were always kind to animals. You bought home our first dog, Casper, who we had for over 16 years. You bought home our cat, Frosty, who is now eleven years old. Our Canary, Rocky, who we lost because of his weak heart. Our new dog, Buffy, who is now six and overweight. (See Part three below) Picture is of Marge and Frosty - April 1990 - Texas.

FNC - May 6, 1997 - Part three. We called our pets "our children" and that is why I called you mom. You were a great mom to our children and me. I pray, as you did, that your son Gary and your daughter Gail will remember you as being a great mom to them. You always had them and your grandchildren; Scott, Todd, and Corrie Leigh in your heart and in your prayers more than they will ever know. You were a fine person to be with and a great Lady to love and be with. As always, I was the pilot and protector and you were the co-pilot and inspiration for me to continue on. You made our marriage work. You never complained - ever. Not even during the last 15 months of your life. You remained strong and positive about life. But, then came a Thursday morning and I held your hands in mine and I asked if you were going to leave me. You squeezed my hand and smiled..[what happened next is to personal to mention here]...Twenty four years ago when I needed an Angel I looked out my window and there on the lawn sitting in the bright sun was you. We only spoke of this for the first time recently - yes you wanted to meet me. You did and we fell in love. Now I have many wonderful memories because we met on a bright sunny day. (See part four below) (Picture is of Marge and Buffy - 1995 - Polk City, Florida. This is where we parked our motorhome from late Nov./Dec. to late March each year).

FNC - May 6, 1997 - Part four of four. Marge, if ever I raised my voice or caused you concern forgive me. I am deeply sorry. Thanks again for 24 years of being my friend, my companion, my inspiration, my wife. And now Marge, Mom, Marjorie, I do what I promised - ONLY I WILL PLACE YOUR ASHES IN THIS EARTH in this beautiful cemetery. I do an act of Love, an act of Respect. In the name of JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, THE SON OF GOD, I place your ashes in His Earth. Jesus has your Soul and I will always have your Memory. I love you. I love you Marjorie Laura Francisco Hugo Edgerton and I miss you. Be with God...Love, your husband Chick. (Marge died on Feb 2, 1997 and was buried in the FNC on May 6, 1997.) The Reverend Alva Brock, Minister of First Methodist Church of Dade City, Pasco County, Florida officiated at the burial service and he read the above letter. (Picture is of THE FLORIDA NATIONAL CEMETERY, SECTION 319 - GRAVE 32 BUSHNELL, FLORIDA).
