Hi Autumn, I think I know a little more about this Richard Carpenter. I think he was Richard Hezekiah Carpenter, born June 3, 1858. I believe him to be the son of Alexander L Carpenter, who is buried in Pisgah Cemetery in Avery Co., North Carolina, and Kesiah Vance
