She was a homemaker and a member of Ridgely First Baptist Church. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She opened her home to a sister, nieces, nephews and her grandchildren. Lucille was known for her beautiful smile.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Ridgely with the Rev. Jack Henry, the Rev. Phillip Senn and the Rev. Chris Wilbanks officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include her son, Johnny Barnes and wife, Marilyn, of Ridgely; a daughter, Wanda Leake and husband, Tony, of Ridgely; a granddaughter that she raised, Andria Holder and husband, Royce, of Ridgely; a step-son, Farris Barnes and wife, Karen, of Plymouth, MI; a nephew that she raised, Harold Long and wife, Sherry, of Dyersburg; a sister, Mrs. Flossie Rhodes of Tiptonville; seven grandchildren, Melanie Marshall and husband, Charles, Amanda Patterson and husband, Kent, John Cory Barnes and wife, Sara, Joshua Patrick Barnes and wife, Marikay, Laura Beth Davis and husband, Joseph and Brian Butler; two step-grandchildren, Nancy Martin and Michael Barnes; fourteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Barnes; her parents, Rev. C.L. Long and Hattie Warden Yarbro Long; a son, Jerry Barnes; a nephew she raised, Randy Long; three brothers, William Henry "Jack" Long, Johnny Clyde Long and James Yarbro; two sisters, Ethel Hogue Hicks and Clara Porter; and a great-great-granddaughter, Georgiana Claire Holder.
Pallbearers will be Cory Barnes, Josh Barnes, Colton Holder, Braxton Holder, Brian Butler, Ronnie Lanier and Joseph Davis.
