He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Frederick William Meyer, a brother, John Meyer, two sisters, Sharon Wenger and Ida Campeau.
Surviving are five children, Barbara Meyer, Harold Meyer, John (Sandra) Meyer, Joe (Linda) Meyer and Karen (Joel) Just of Elk Grove Village; six grandchildren, Sharon (Nathan) Doll, Doug (Katy) Meyer, Phillip Meyer, Ida Meyer, Kim Just and Matt Just, a great-grandson, a sister, Patricia Brucker and a brother, Robert (Mary) Meyer.
Harold graduated from Sibley High School.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a 53-year member of Martin-Suntken American Legion Post 244.
He retired from Central Soya in 1989.
